Ministry of Sound - Saturday Sessions
Typographic Posters
Ministry of Sound's D&AD brief involved producing three typographically focused A2 posters to promote their iconic Saturday Sessions nights in London.

The concept of the posters rely on the mixing of music elements carried out by a DJ to cause a reaction. A clear link to this concept was the idea of solids, liquids and gases which are scientifically mixed to also cause a reaction.

Each poster contains an illustration of one of the three science elements, arranged upon their relevance to the dominately played music genre for that month. Each poster also contains a scientific periodic element to reinforce the mixing and reaction aspects involved. The choices are as followed:

September - Solid: Electronic music
Electronic music contains elements of impact, abstract and is hard-hitting which signifies a reaction of a solid.

October - Liquid: House music
House music contains an element called 'the drop' within a song. This is reinforced through the liquid spread across the poster to signify the drop has taken place.

November - Gas: Trance music
Trance music focuses on the escapism and freedom within music. The gas element reinforces this through the idea of evaporation.

By keeping the posters minimal and clean reinforces the Ministry of Sound brand effectively.
